Who we are

Bury Plastering Quotes is a matching service run by Peter Colburn trading as Quote Local Trades, Bartle House, 9 Oxford Court, Manchester, M2 3WQ. Bury Plastering Quotes is part of Quote Local Trades. We are the "controller" of the information you send through this site. We are not a plastering company, and we don't do the work ourselves.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry, we collect:

• your name, phone number, email and postcode
• the type of job, when you'd like it done, and your description
• any photo you choose to add, and the best time to contact you
• whether you ticked the consent and marketing boxes.

We also keep the date and time you sent it. Our website host keeps short technical logs (such as IP addresses) to keep the site secure.

What we use it for, and our lawful basis

• Passing your enquiry to a local firm so it can contact you about a quote. Lawful basis: your consent (the required box on the form) and your request for us to do this.
• Emailing you about your enquiry, for example to confirm which firm has it. Lawful basis: the same consent and request.
• Keeping basic records and stopping spam or misuse. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running the service properly.
• Asking for feedback about the service: we don't send feedback emails at the moment. Before we start, we'll update this notice (see also our review policy).
• Occasional tips by email, only if you ticked the optional box. Lawful basis: consent. You can stop these at any time.

Who we share it with

• Nobody. We don't have a firm covering this area yet, so we don't pass on any enquiries here. Once the firm has your details, it is responsible for how it uses them (it becomes a separate controller). It may use them only for your enquiry.
• Two services hold your details for us and use them only to provide their service to us: Cloudflare, which hosts this site and keeps the form details in its database (we ask for that database to be held in Western Europe, and Cloudflare places it as near to that as it can), and Fastmail, our email service, which holds the emails we exchange with you (Fastmail keeps copies and backups in the US). When Cloudflare or Fastmail move your details from the UK to the US, both say they use standard contractual safeguards (the Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect them.
• A second firm, only if you say yes. If the firm hasn't been in touch with you in time, we'll ask you before passing your enquiry to another firm, and we'll name that firm first. We never pass your details to a second firm unless you agree.
• We never sell your details, and we never pass them to anyone else for their own marketing.

How we're paid: We are paid by the firm we pass enquiries to: a fee for each enquiry we pass on. You don't pay us anything. Firms pay for enquiries, not for your data, and we don't sell your details to anyone.

If no firm covers your area

If we don't have a firm covering your postcode for this trade, we tell you, and we don't keep your enquiry or pass it to anyone. Our security log records only that an enquiry was turned away for this reason, with no details from it.

You can choose to join a waiting list, using a separate tickbox that is never ticked for you. If you tick it and send it:

• What we keep: your email address and the first part of your postcode (such as OL11 2), plus the exact wording you agreed to and when. No name, phone number or address.
• What for: only to email you once if a plastering firm joins for your area. Lawful basis: your consent.
• Who gets it: nobody. We never pass it to a firm or anyone else. If a firm joins, we tell you its name and you decide whether to send it an enquiry through this site.
• How long: we delete it within 90 days at the latest, or as soon as we've told you, or sooner if you ask. Afterwards we keep only a count-style record (date, trade, postcode district), with no email.

Cookies

This site uses no tracking or advertising cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts, so there's no cookie banner. This site sets no cookies.

How long we keep it

We delete enquiry details 90 days after we receive them. For our accounts, we keep a basic record that an enquiry was passed on (the date, job type, postcode district and firm), with no name or contact details. If you ticked the marketing box, we keep your email address for that until you tell us to stop. Waiting-list requests (if no firm covers your area) are deleted within 90 days at the latest.

Your rights

You can withdraw your consent at any time. This stops us passing your enquiry on, but it doesn't undo anything already shared, so contact the firm directly as well. You can also ask us to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how we use it. To use any of these rights, email privacy@quotelocaltrades.co.uk. We'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
